Toskals groom each other to form bonds as Toskals can self groom well enough to maintain good hygiene. Grooming the neck fur of a Toskal that you're not very close to is a big social no though, it's considered very intimate as the neck is a vulnerable place. |

Pup raisingToskals are communal parents, and will raise both their own and other Toskals pups. As death rates are high with fierce predators around it's not unheard of for Toskals to adopt pups that they have no relation to or just find on their travels. If a Toskal has only enough food for one pup they will prioritise their own, but otherwise it's share and share alike. |

So let's start simple. Toskals are very social creatures who build bonds and connections through grooming and affection. At a glance, these are the main relationships levels between Toskals:
Friend: Side of the face hugs & basic grooming. Close: Under the chin hug, cuddles & grooming. Loved one: Resting foreheads, grooming and cuddles.

Ears play a big part in Toskal emotions and convey a lot without the need to verbalise intent. - Ears pressed back and together are a show of nervousness and excitement. Complex but symmetrical pelts are an epitome of Toskal beauty.
- An interested Toskal will tuck their chin downwards in attempts to show their potential partner the whole of their face and markings. The eye contact is also a display of interest whilst doing so. - Low and slow tail swaying is a display of interest & friendliness. - Tail curling in at the tip is a display of shyness and awkwardness. |
